The Office Convention is Coming!

No way!  The Office Convention is coming to Scranton, PA!  This is like SOOOO much better than a Trekie convention!

Here are the details:

The Idea
The time has come for The Office fans to unite, and what better place to do it than the city that's home to Michael Scott and the rest of the Dunder-Mifflin staff – Scranton, Pa. "The Electric City" is celebrating the best comedy on TV by inviting Dunder-heads to converge on Northeast Pa. for a full weekend of pretending to hang out with other peoples' co-workers. Think of it like a Star Trek convention but with nerds wearing Dwight Schrute glasses instead of Spock ears.

The Details
We can finally spill the beets, er, beans ... the first-ever The Office Convention will take place in and around beautiful downtown Scranton, Pa., the weekend of Oct. 26-28, 2007. Activities and ticket prices will be announced at a later date.


Update:  Jim Eltringham emails: "I took the quizzes.  I apparently “base my life around” The Office and am “no stranger” to Scranton."

SEASON FINALE!

Tonight's the big night.  I'll be in NYC, but will do everything in my power to wath it live.

Otherwise, we've got some sad news to report.  It seems the sweetheart of the Office, Jenna Fischer, had a recent scare:


"The Office star Jenna Fischer is recuperating after fracturing her back in four places from a fall down a set of stairs.

"She avoided anything scary near the spine and she'll make a full recovery in time to shoot season four of The Office this summer," her publicist told the New York Daily News's Rush & Molloy column.

The accident reportedly took place Tuesday in the downtown Manhattan bar Buddakan, where a TV upfront party for Fischer's NBC sitcom was being held. (The actress, 33, plays Pam Beesley on the show.)"

NBC Orders Extra 'Office'

NBC's fall may not include a single new comedy series, but the network has ordered an extra dose of "The Office" and "My Name Is Earl."

Still Looking for Someone With a Sales Background

Last night's episode could not be described as a classically "great" episode.  Maybe it's because I'm not a fan of Survivor, but it wasn't a "homerun" for me.

Still, it set up the Season Finale next week.  Of course, I'm talking about Pam's rant (after the coal walk) that she "misses" Jim, and that she "shouldn't have been with Roy..."

BTW, I beleive that Karen will get the new corporate job, and that Jim and Pam will finally get together.

On the funny side, the Sumo wrestling was quite good.  I like when Jim says, "I've never seen that look in a man's eye before ..."

"The Office is shooting two endings to the current season—one in which Rashida Jones (Karen) leaves the show, and one in which she stays—because it is not yet known whether Rashida will be back next season."
